Nitrous oxide, known commonly as laughing gas, is a colorless, odorless inhalable gas. Laughing gas is administered through a small mask placed on the nose, allowing the dosage to be closely monitored and adjusted throughout the procedure. The gas goes to work quickly, putting the patient in a state of ease and relaxation. Once the gas is shut off, the effects wear off within minutes.
